The Cleveland Guardians will have their home opener on Friday, at Progressive Field.
The game is at 4:10 p.m. ET and will have Aaron Civale facing the Seattle Mariners and Logan Gilbert.
It’s a difficult assignment, one that could be the preview of a postseason showdown this year between the two emerging American League powerhouses.
Fans, however, are already nearby, waiting for the perfect time to get into the stadium and enjoy an excellent baseball game.
In the meantime, they are keeping themselves ready at one of the most traditional spots of the area.

As they say so themselves, the Thirsty Parrot is conveniently located on the corner of East Ninth & Bolivar.
It’s a regular spot to meet with friends and fellow Guardians fans who are excited about the team.
While this Guardians team certainly does not have the same approach or philosophy of that 1995 squad, there is increasing optimism about what it can achieve.
Those 1995 Indians, as they were called back then, had one of the most powerful offenses you will see, led by Albert Belle (who hit 50 doubles and 50 homers that year), Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Eddie Murray, Kenny Lofton, and others.
This Guardians club is more of a pitching factory with some really good and talented hitters, although not necessarily home run kings.
Still, they showed last year that their approach can take them far.
They look even better this year, and have opened the season with a solid 5-2 record.
Cleveland is more excited than ever about baseball this year, and Progressive Field will be at full capacity on Friday.
