The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to contend for the NL pennant again in 2023.
But, to do so they need their roster to stay healthy.
That has not been the case to start this season.
The Phillies lost first baseman Rhys Hoskins to an ACL injury in spring training.
Also, Bryce Harper was already expected to miss the first few months of the year.
It has just been a terrible start to the season for the Phillies.
But, one reason for optimism is the recovery of Harper.
It seems to be going very well, as the former MVP is already hitting on the field.
But, Dave Dombrowski says that Harper remains right on schedule.
According to Matt Gelb, Dombrowski said Harper is doing “very well.”
Bryce Harper is hitting on the field again today. “It’s really no different than it’s been all along,” Dave Dombrowski said this week. Some context: https://t.co/elK2HGKNBq pic.twitter.com/D3JguvEwiu

Harper is a two-time MVP and his impact is always felt when he is on the field.
The Phillies have missed his contributions so far this season.
The last we saw Harper, he was on a historic run in the playoffs.
Unfortunately, it appears that he will not be back until late-May at the earliest.
The Phillies must be in contention by the time Harper comes back.
A lineup of Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Harper can be one of the best in the NL.
It is great to see Harper doing well in recovery and hopefully, he will return soon.
