In recent seasons, especially between 2020 and 2022, MLB did lots of things wrong.
The disagreements and ugly negotiations to play the season in the pandemic, the awkward lockout and owners’ silly and ridiculous demands in the CBA negotiations, and then some.
However, we have to criticize the bad but also praise the good decisions.
They knew they were risking losing their audience with the rule changes, but they have all been a hit.
The pitch clock, the bigger bases that lead to more steals: most people have enjoyed them.
The World Baseball Classic was a hit mostly because of the geographical configuration of the tournament.
They have done some things right.
The most recent one is the installation of a camera in the umpire’s mask that lets fans watch the game from a different angle.

This was a broadcast by Apple TV, who has the right to air specific games on Fridays.
We could enjoy an at-bat by Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger from a unique angle.
Fans must feel more connected than ever with what happens on the field.
The concept of the umpire camera wasn’t born in 2023, but we are certainly hoping to see more of it and we would love for it to become a fixture in every game.
The closeness with the game action is unbelievable.
It’s another cool feature added by MLB in its quest to make the experience more attractive to fans.
Rating levels are going up, stadiums are often full, and money is flowing for almost every team.
It’s a good time to be a fan.
