The New York Knicks have had a season that fans are very happy with.

With a 47-34 record, they have secured the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference.

They are now headed to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs next weekend.

But lately, a rumor about the Knicks has been floating around the web and it has had fans even more excited for the team’s future.

However, it’s not true.

When asked about Carmelo Anthony possibly returning to the Knicks for the last days of the regular season and some of the playoffs, Knicks writer Fred Katz said that isn’t happening.

“The report about the Knicks signing Melo for the final two days of the season is not true,” Katz said to a disappointed fan online.

Sure enough, people on Twitter have been speculating about Anthony perhaps returning to the Knicks as the season closes and the playoffs begin.

In fact, all season long people have been wondering if the team would offer Anthony a place to play.

It would be a spectacular homecoming.

Anthony played for the Knicks from the 2010-11 season until 2016-17.

During that time, he was posting more than 20 points a night and was a definitive team leader.

It wasn’t his first NBA team: he spent his first few years in the league with the Denver Nuggets.

But the Knicks were the team that really took Anthony to the next level.

They turned him into the special player he is.

Anthony last played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2021-22 season.

He averaged 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds, shooting 44.1% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point line.

But he wasn’t re-signed by the Lakers and has been waiting for another NBA team to pick up the phone and give him a call.
