The Seattle Seahawks found unexpected success during the 2022 NFL season, making the playoffs in Geno Smith’s first year as their starter.

After Russell Wilson was traded, many expected the team to have a rebuilding year, which was not the case.

The Seahawks now look to build their team around Smith and have made a few key offseason additions.

One of these additions was Julian Love, a safety with four years of NFL experience.

In a statement via the Seahawks’ website, regarding the fit within the organization, Love said “I knew I was supposed to be there.”

In an article on the NFL Network’s website, NFL reporter Brenna White highlighted more details about Love’s signing.

White detailed Love’s 2022 season, where he had two interceptions and a forced fumble when he was a member of the New York Giants.

Last year, Love also had one quarterback hit, and six total tackles for loss.

Love and the Seahawks will have a difficult test in the 2023 season, as their division still contains the San Francisco 49ers, who made it to the NFL Championship in 2022.

The Los Angeles Rams are also in the division.

Despite their 5-12 season in 2022, the Rams will look to get back on track, assuming their star players are fully healthy.

With any luck, Love’s NFL experience will be a welcomed addition to the Seahawks’ defense, as they look for continued growth from last year’s success.

At just 25 years old, Love should have several years of elite NFL production left, which is great news for the Seahawks.
