The St. Louis Cardinals are off to a rough start in 2023.
While their starting pitching remains an issue, the offense has emerged as a culprit for their early struggles.
The team certainly had their chances against the Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend.
However, they did not cash in on their opportunities.
The most glaring moment was when the Cards loaded the bases with nobody out in the eighth inning on Sunday and failed to score.
On Monday, Cardinals writer Derrick Goold tweeted some statistics that will certainly be troubling for fans, showing just how poorly the team’s offense performed in Milwaukee.

St. Louis is 3-6 through their first nine games of the season and are tied for the second-worst record in the National League with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Their biggest struggles came with the bases loaded over the weekend.
They were 0-for-3 with two strikeouts on Sunday, 0-for-5 during the series in Milwaukee, and are 0-for-8 on the season with four strikeouts and just one RBI.
Their only run on Sunday came via a Jordan Walker single in the top of the fourth.
On paper, St. Louis has a strong offense which consists of Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Willson Contreras, Brendan Donovan, Tommy Edman, and Walker.
But after a hot start to the season against the Toronto Blue Jays, the bats fell silent against the Atlanta Braves and continued their ugly trend in Milwaukee.
The team will head to Denver for a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies in hopes of righting the ship.
