Many people assumed that Keegan Murray would be a special player when he was selected as the fourth overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft.
Sure enough, the young star has transformed into a very important part of his surging Sacramento Kings roster.
And he has now just made NBA history.
Murray has averaged 12.2 points and 2.6 threes per game this season on a 41.1% three-point percentage.
That makes him the first rookie to ever hit 200+ threes in a season.

Murray was a bench player for his first two games of the season.
After those opening games, Murray became a starter and hasn’t looked back.
He is now a pivotal player for the Kings and is about to help his team for their first postseason run in years.
He is one of the few rookies to end his first year with the playoffs, a huge accomplishment and a wonderful welcome into the league.
Murray has certainly become one of the hottest sharpshooters on a team full of them.
While his 2.6 threes a game are incredible, he is actually the second-best three-point producer for the Kings.
Kevin Huerter has inched ahead of him with his 2.7 per game.
But there are actually seven Kings players who produce more than one three-pointer per game.
When this new-look Kings team was being developed last summer, many analysts believed they could make an impact in the West due to their young age and their plethora of terrific perimeter shooters.
In that regard, everything has worked according to plan for the Kings.
Now it’s time to see how far this team can go.
Can Murray, Huerter, and the rest of the Kings continue this dominance from downtown?
