It takes a lot to learn the ropes of being an NBA player.
Regardless of how high you’re taken in the NBA Draft or how much of an impact you make as a first-year player, rookies still need to earn their stripes in the league and the locker room.
For decades, veteran players have hazed and pranked young guys at some point in the season, and the Indiana Pacers weren’t the exception to that rule.
Following their regular season finale, Pacers center Myles Turner showed a hilarious prank they pulled on Bennedict Mathurin.
The team rallied together to plastic-wrap Mathurin’s car, but at least the sharpshooter was a good sport about it.

Mathurin had no choice but to get to unwrapping to try and get his car back while the rest of the team cracked some laughs and recorded him.
Mathurin had an outstanding rookie campaign and outplayed his NBA Draft stock early in his career, and he looks like a guy with the potential to be among the league’s top scorers in no time.
Also, all things considered, this was a normal and funny prank by the Pacers.
Back in the day, Shaquille O’Neal reportedly would go to the bathroom in a bucket and then throw the said bucket above rookies when they were set to take a shower.
Needless to say, those guys may not be as cool about that as Mathurin was with this prank.
But hey, no one wanted to get into Shaq’s face, especially not as a rookie.
