After 16 years of waiting and consistently failing to rebuild after the Chris Webber era, the Sacramento Kings have ended the longest playoff drought in the NBA and will face the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors in the first round.

With the Kings facing arguably one of the most popular teams in the league, the ticket prices for their playoff series have gone through the roof.

In fact, the Warriors facing the Kings in Sacramento to start their playoff matchup is the most expensive ticket among all the playoff matchups in the league, according to TickPick via Front Office Sports.

This weekend, the Sacramento Kings will play their first playoff game in 16 years.

Although the Warriors are a must-see team in the postseason, as Stephen Curry and company have proven to be pure entertainment when the playoffs roll around, $427 for some of the worst seats in the building in Sacramento is a bit ridiculous.

As if that price wasn’t ridiculous enough and set an NBA record, the craziest part of this is that the tickets to watch this playoff matchup in San Francisco are nearly half the price.

This is baffling, to say the least, as San Francisco is an expensive city and would almost certainly be expected to have higher ticket prices, especially for one of the best arenas in the league, the Chase Center.

It seems the Kings are trying to make as much as they possibly can to take advantage of a situation the franchise hasn’t been in for 16 years.

However, it’ll be interesting to see if Sacramento will genuinely have a homecourt advantage because their fans might not be thrilled with having to pay these prices, meaning there could be a lot of Warriors fans in the building.
