The Minnesota Timberwolves are headed to the Play-in Tournament, where the team will go head-to-head against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Even though the 2022-23 campaign isn’t over for the Timberwolves yet, the regular season couldn’t have ended in a worse way, with the team seemingly falling apart, leading to a physical altercation on the bench between Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert.
As a result of the altercation, the team has suspended Gobert for the upcoming Play-in matchup with the Lakers on Tuesday night.
That’s a costly loss for the Timberwolves, but the scuffle and teammates getting heated is something that Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett believes is a good thing for the team moving forward.
Nothing like a light scuffle to tighten up the screws before the playoffs! LFG @Timberwolves! https://t.co/A4JvmZ3ga6

Few players in NBA history were as fiery or as passionate as Garnett, who played every night with his heart on his sleeve.
Garnett’s energy was contagious during his time with the Timberwolves, and that carried over to his stint with the Boston Celtics, in which he won an NBA title alongside Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo.
Although scuffles and altercations may have benefited Garnett during his incredible NBA career, it remains to be seen if this Timberwolves team can use this to its advantage and get the best of the Lakers on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
Along with Gobert set to miss the game due to being suspended, the Timberwolves will also be without Jaden McDaniels, who fractured his hand after punching a wall after yesterday’s game.
The loss of these two talented players is a major blow for Minnesota, but the team is still alive and has one more chance to punch its ticket to the postseason.
