The honeymoon phase is over between Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.

There have been multiple reports about Young’s behavior rubbing his coaches, teammates, and the organization the wrong way.

From traveling on his own after a playoff loss to not even showing up to a game after a discussion with his coach, Young’s antics have made people think that he’s full of himself.

And while he’s one of the rising stars in this league, he’s handling himself like a guy who’s already a bonafide superstar, which he isn’t just yet.

That’s why Shannon Sharpe believes the Hawks might find it hard to get decent value in return for him now that they’re reportedly open to trading him:

“What are you going to get for a 6ft PG? He’s not a superstar. They were just in the Eastern Conference Finals 2 years ago and this is where they are now,” Sharpe said.

Hawks ownership has given the ‘green light’ to make trades, including Trae Young:

Sharpe pointed out the fact that Young isn’t a superstar; he’s just 6-foot tall and has a history of insubordination.

So, if the Hawks cannot get their player’s value in return, they shouldn’t move him just for the sake of moving him.

He pointed out that they were in the Eastern Conference Finals just a couple of seasons ago, so it’s not like they should just blow the roster up and start from scratch.

Truth be told, as good as Young is, it’s hard to envision a team giving up multiple first-round picks and other assets for a non-defender, 6-foot PG, especially with all the reports about his behavior.

So, maybe it’ll be better for everybody involved if they just bury the hatchet and run it back at least for another season.
