The Detroit Lions find themselves in a great spot heading into the 2023 season.
They are not only expected to be playoff contenders next year but they are also set up nicely to be successful for many seasons.
One reason for that is the Lions have two first-round draft picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Detroit selects sixth overall and 18th overall.
Also, the Lions have the luxury of two second-round picks.
One spot where the Lions need to improve is on the defensive side of the ball.
Their defense was one of the worst in the NFL last season and can use reinforcements on every level.
One player the Lions would love to have is Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr.
He is projected to be a top-five pick by many and the chances are good he may not fall to the Lions.
Yet, the Lions still feel like they should meet with Anderson just in case.
According to Tom Pelissero, the Lions will host Anderson for a pre-draft visit later this week.

Finding players that can successfully get after the quarterback is one of the most important things in football.
Anderson was able to do that at a high level in college.
Over his last two college seasons, he had 17.5 and 10.0 sacks, respectively.
Detroit might have to trade up to land the star pass rusher, but he is certainly worth one of the draft’s top selections.
