The Green Bay Packers offseason discussion has been dominated by Aaron Rodgers thus far.

Rodgers has publically declared his intent to play for the New York Jets, but a deal has still not been put in place, and he remains a Packer.

Amid Rodgers’ situation, Aaron Jones restructured his contract and is set to make $11 million in 2023, as opposed to the $16 million he had previously agreed to.

Recently, Jones had an interview with Cody Krupp, a local Fox Sports reporter.

In this interview, Jones revealed his opinion on the situation, citing “I’ve never made $11 mil in my career, so still the most I’ve ever made, and still has me at the second highest paid RB.”

“Wouldn’t say a pay cut cause I’ve never made $11 mil in my career so still most have ever made & still has me at second highest paid RB. It matched up w/market, & I didn’t want to be greedy.” pic.twitter.com/rwl2uKilRf

While describing the current running back market, Jones also said “It matched up with the market, and I didn’t want to be greedy.”

Jones is entering his seventh season with the Packers and is coming off a career-high in rushing yards and receptions.

Despite being 28 years old, Jones has shown no signs of slowing down, and appears ready to continue to impact the Packers’ roster, no matter who their quarterback is.

This will be the first full season that Jones will not have Rodgers as his quarterback, with Jordan Love the presumed starter.

Over the past three seasons, Jones has averaged 52 receptions per year, adding that much more value to the Packers.

Will Love be able to use him in a similar capacity, taking full advantage of his pass-catching abilities?

With a depleted, young receiving corps, the Packers may need to lean heavily on Jones in both facets of his game.
