The Baltimore Ravens have set their price for Lamar Jackson, and they don’t seem willing to change their stance.
Jackson — who has represented himself throughout the process — wants more guaranteed money, comparing his situation to Deshaun Watson’s.
But his history of injuries has made the Ravens wonder whether he’ll actually be able to live up to that deal, so they’re simply not willing to meet his asking price.
The Ravens recently had a gesture of good faith towards him, signing former star Odell Beckham Jr. to finally give him a solid and clear No. 1 in the passing game.
However, that might not be enough for Jackson to reconsider his desire to be traded.
Notably, GM Eric DeCosta didn’t do much to appease the situation either, recently admitting that he hasn’t talked to Lamar in quite some time.
DeCosta admitted that they still hope to get a deal done with Jackson eventually, adding that they actually believe he’s the right guy for the team.
DeCosta: “I’ve not talked to Lamar since the signing. There’s been interaction along the way.”
“We’re hopeful still that we’ll get a long-term deal done. He’s the right player for this team…”

The Ravens know they cannot find success without their top-notch QB behind center.
It became even more evident when he was out with an injury; they just need him out there; it’s as simple as that.
But this is perhaps the first time that they’ve actually acknowledged it, as they’ve treated him as an expendable player for most of this process.
Hopefully, both parties will be able to work out a deal any time soon, as Jackson is one of the best players in the game and deserves to be treated as such.
