The NBA playoffs are about to get underway, with only two games left in the Play-in Tournament and the majority of the first-round matchups set.
One of the most intriguing matchups in the first round right now is the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Memphis Grizzlies in a No. 2 versus No. 7 showdown with a talented young team facing a veteran squad led by superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Although the Grizzlies are favored to come out on top in this first-round playoff series, the Lakers are getting a lot of buzz as a legitimate threat against Ja Morant and company, with Fox Sports analysts believing Game 1 is a must-win situation for Memphis.
“We’ve seen teams come back from a deficit. But Game 1 is a nearly a must-win for the Grizzlies.”

Game 1 of a playoff series in the NBA being a must-win is a stretch.
Chris Broussard might be going with an over-the-top take about this matchup between the Lakers and Grizzlies, as it’s hard to think Memphis will be on the verge of an upset if they drop their first game at home against Darvin Ham’s squad.
The Grizzlies will be very rested and ready to go on Sunday when they play host to the Lakers in Game 1, but even though there may be some rust, Memphis is the second seed in the Western Conference for a reason and will likely show that right out of the gate.
Any team with James and Davis leading the charge will be a tough out in the postseason, however, this dynamic duo in Los Angeles is as fragile as ever, with both players constantly dealing with injury issues.
Although the Lakers will be at full strength on Sunday, the Grizzlies are the better all-around squad and will prove it.
