The Minnesota Twins are off to a fast start this season.

Their early-season success was on full display on Thursday night as they opened up a four-game weekend series against the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

They scored nine runs in the first inning and crushed the Yankees by a final score of 11-2, even forcing the Bronx Bombers to use Isiah Kiner-Falefa to pitch the ninth.

Starter Joe Ryan was equally impressive, as he gave the Twins a seven-inning performance.

The young right-hander allowed just one run on three hits and struck out 10 Yankees.

He also did not walk a batter.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted Ryan’s line and also pointed out that the young righty is 3-0 on the season with 26 strikeouts in 19 innings of work.

Ryan certainly had his work cut out for him on Thursday as he faced a Yankee lineup that consists of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

However, he made quick work of the Bronx Bombers and dominated them over seven innings of work.

The Twins also improved to 9-4 on the season and maintained their perch atop the American League Central division.

They also still have the second-best record in the American League.

Minnesota’s starting pitching his been very solid this season.

Ryan had a solid outing on Thursday, but right-hander Pablo Lopez has also pitched quite well.

Ryan ultimately continued the trend for the Twins as they completely dominated the Yankees in their series opener on Thursday.

The Twins will try to secure at least a series split with a win on Friday.
