After the Kansas City Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in free agency, there was widespread concern that the Chiefs’ receiving room was depleted.

Hill is regarded as one of the league’s best wide receivers and was one less weapon for Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs were able to win the Super Bowl in 2022, despite Hill’s absence.

Mahomes was able to find a connection with other receivers, including Justin Watson.

Due to their connection, the Chiefs have recently re-signed Watson to a two-year deal, per his agency, JL Sports, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Watson was targeted 37 times in 2022, turning them into 15 receptions, 315 yards, and two touchdowns.

While these numbers don’t necessarily jump off the page, Watson has established himself as a part of the Chiefs offense.

JuJu Smith-Schuster has recently left the team to sign with the New England Patriots, leaving an open role.

If the Chiefs do not use early-round draft capital on a receiver, that would be even better news for Watson.

He is slated to compete with Marques Valdez-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney for targets, three receivers that were on the Super Bowl-winning team.

The Chiefs have recently added Richie James into the mix as well, yet another veteran receiver to come over from the New York Giants.

While the Chiefs did win the Super Bowl in 2022, there is still work to be done, in terms of adding to their roster moving forward.

Who else will join the Chiefs’ roster, on their search to win their second-straight Super Bowl?
