The NFL Draft is not an exact science.
Scouts and GMs do the best they can to try and project which players will be great NFL players.
But, sometimes they are brutally wrong in the evaluation of a player.
How else would Tom Brady fall to the sixth round?
Or, why was JaMarcus Russell selected first overall?
There have been many missed evaluations in the NFL Draft and you can bet there will be some this draft.
Yet, teams still have to do their best to find great players.
Dov Kleiman posted a video of comedian Larry David talking about how GMs have no idea what they are doing.
David even mentioned an example of former GM Bill Polian and what he said about Lamar Jackson.

Polian hangs his hat on the fact that he drafted Peyton Manning first overall when he was the GM in Indianapolis.
Yet, he could not have been more wrong about Jackson.
Within two years of being drafted by the Ravens, Jackson won league MVP.
He is now set to receive a massive contract to play quarterback this offseason.
There are rarely sure things when it comes to NFL Draft prospects.
So having an elite scouting department that can find the gems, is one of the biggest assets in the sport.
It will be interesting to see what players get drafted where in the upcoming draft.
The road to the Super Bowl begins at the NFL Draft, and finding impact players is crucial.
