The Minnesota Vikings had a few holes on their roster that they needed to fill.
One being their secondary.
After losing cornerback Patrick Peterson in free agency, Minnesota was looking for more depth at that position.
According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, the Vikings agreed to terms with cornerback Joejuan Williams.
Williams does not have much playing time in his NFL career.
He was drafted in the second round of 2019, and since then has played in 36 games.
Williams has yet to intercept a pass in his career, and he has eight passes defended.
No one seems to know what he is capable of becoming as an NFL player.
He missed all of last season with a shoulder injury but has the ideal size for an NFL cornerback (6-foot-3, 212 pounds).
I wouldn’t look at the Joejuan Williams signing as anything major.
CB room needs bodies and he’ll help.
From what I remember of him coming out of Vanderbilt he was a physical corner. Not a lot of playing time in NE, but here’s a few plays.

The Vikings defense held them back last season, especially in the playoffs.
Minnesota struggled to stop the New York Giants in their home playoff loss.
Upgrades need to be made on that side of the ball for them to be contenders again next season.
While Williams is not a game-changing player, the Vikings can turn him into a solid rotational player.
Playing in the NFC North, the Vikings will have to defend the pass.
Facing the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears will be no easy task.
That is why players like Williams will have to make an immediate impact if called upon.
That division is up for grabs in 2023, as all four teams have the potential to win it.
