When it comes to contracts in the NFL, every player is looking to outdo his counterpart.
Especially when it comes to quarterbacks, whichever star is the next up for a deal is seeking the most money.
Well, one of the big quarterback dominoes fell on Monday.
That was Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts signing a massive five-year contract extension.
He had a career year last season, finishing second in league MVP, and leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl.
All of those things factored in led to the Eagles feeling comfortable giving Hurts this deal.
But, there will be a ripple effect across the league because of it.
Three quarterbacks in particular should be thrilled with the contract that Hurts received.
Adam Schefter named those three as Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow.

Each is set for a massive extension of their own and can make the case to be paid more than Hurts.
But, Jackson will have to be the first one to sign the dotted line.
That is because he is under the franchise tag right now, and he is free to negotiate contracts with any team.
Jackson has won a league MVP and is still only 26 years old.
He has all the leverage to ask for a deal north of the one that Hurts just agreed to.
Quarterback contracts are always a massive talk around the league, and that will once again be the case this offseason.
