Tuesday is a special day for Detroit Tigers legend and slugger Miguel Cabrera.
The veteran slugger is turning 40 years old.
Cabrera is in the final season of his storied MLB career and is enjoying a farewell tour of sorts.
Since breaking into the big leagues with the Florida Marlins in 2003, Cabrera has hit for a .308 average, has picked up a total of 3,095 hits, and has hit 507 home runs.
He also has an OPS of .907.
With Tuesday being Cabrera’s birthday, MLB Network posted a nice tribute to the future Hall-of-Famer by listing some of his most impressive accomplishments over the course of such a legendary and historic career.
Happy 4⃣0⃣th birthday to one of the greatest to ever step in the batter’s box, @MiguelCabrera!

Cabrera has certainly accomplished a lot during his career.
He has been selected to 12 All-Star Games, has won two MVP Awards, a Triple Crown, and a World Series ring.
The Tigers are not expected to have much success this year, but it should be a fun year to celebrate one of the game’s greatest players who has been around for so long and accomplished so much.
Affectionately known as “Miggy,” Cabrera is one of the most well-respected players in the history of baseball.
His Triple Crown season came in 2012.
That year, he helped lead the Tigers to the World Series for the first time since 2006.
He reached the 3,000-hit mark early last season and had the entire City of Detroit rallying behind him.
Cabrera will have the support of the entire baseball world as he looks to finish off a legendary career on a positive note.
