The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors have their backs against the wall in their first-round playoff series against the Sacramento Kings, with De’Aaron Fox and company winning the first two games at Golden 1 Center.

With Game 3 being a must-win situation for the Warriors, the attention shifts to the status of veteran forward Draymond Green, who may be facing a suspension due to his on-court antics involving Kings star Domantus Sabonis.

In classic Green fashion, the four-time NBA champion caused quite a stir in Sacramento by stepping on Sabonis while he was on the ground after the Kings big man grabbed his leg.

Sabonis was by no means completely innocent in this situation, and that may be the reason that the league could decide not to suspend Green, as Shams Charania of The Athletic says the NBA is unlikely to issue a suspension.

It is looking unlikely Warriors forward Draymond Green will be suspended for Game 3 vs. Kings after stepping on Domantas Sabonis when Sabonis grabbed his leg on Monday night, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

In Game 3, the first-round series between these division rivals shifts to San Francisco, where the Warriors are as tough as anyone to beat on their home floor.

Although Golden State is as resilient a team as there is in the NBA playoffs this year, the Warriors have struggled against this upstart Kings squad, with Sabonis and Fox proving to be too much to handle thus far.

Losing Green to a suspension would be incredibly costly for the Warriors, but the defending champions seem to have dodged that bullet, which bodes well for a bounce-back performance in Game 3 at the Chase Center.

Even with Green still in the fold, the Kings have proven to be as advertised and potentially a team destined to advance to the second round.
