The Los Angeles Lakers have hit gold with Austin Reaves.
He was an undrafted free agent that signed with the team after the 2021 draft.
Since then Reaves has done nothing but impress.
His two-way contract was quickly converted to a full deal before he even played in his first NBA game.
He is now expected to hit restricted free agency after the season.
Reaves has said all along how much he loves the Lakers and would like to remain with them.
But, he might be able to get far more money elsewhere.
Ex-NBA player Chandler Parsons said on FanDuel TV that:
“You have a very short window as a professional athlete to make the most amount of money you can. Who is to say you take a discount and don’t get traded the following year? You owe these teams nothing Austin Reaves, go get your money.”

Parsons knows how much injuries can affect a player’s career, as a plethora of injuries derailed his own.
That is why Reaves should take this offseason to search for the most lucrative deal possible.
There is no guarantee he will get another payday and this is when he should cash in.
Reaves has been on a tear during the second half of the season.
He is one of the main reasons that the Lakers even made it to the playoffs.
Also, in his first playoff game, Reaves hit a bunch of huge shots to help the Lakers get the win.
The 24-year-old may never get another chance to be paid like he will this offseason.
He should be looking to find the team that will pay him the most and sign with them.
