The Los Angeles Dodgers had an interesting offseason.
Despite signing J.D. Martinez, Noah Syndergaard, Jason Heyward, and David Peralta, they lost some key pieces such as Trea Turner, Cody Bellinger, and Justin Turner.
However, some of their departures opened the door for outfielder James Outman.
The 25-year-old made his MLB debut late in the 2022 season and made the Dodgers Opening Day roster out of spring training.
All he’s done is hit for a .290 average, crush five home runs, drive in 15 runs, and post an OPS 1.042.
On Thursday, the young Dodgers outfielder continued his run of success against the Chicago Cubs.
With the game tied at two runs apiece in the top of the ninth, Outman hit one out to right field that cleared the wall for a go-ahead grand slam.

Outman’s grand slam was his fifth home run of the year.
The Dodgers ultimately held on for a 6-2 win.
But despite their departures this past offseason, Outman provides them with somewhat of a silver lining.
With Bellinger departing and signing with the Cubs, a spot opened up for Outman, who is showing the baseball world what he is capable of.
Outman’s grand slam proved to be the difference in Thursday’s game against the Cubs.
The young slugger stayed hot and continued his run of his success at Wrigley Field.
The Dodgers hold a record of 10-10 and sit just one game back of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West.
Outman had two hits and drove in five of the Dodgers’ runs.
