After a thrilling Game 4 in San Francisco at the Chase Center, the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors were able to even the series with the Sacramento Kings at two games apiece.

The Kings fell just short of taking a 3-1 series lead against their division rivals, and then the team got some awful news, with star guard De’Aaron Fox suffering a hand injury that could force him to miss time, if not the rest of this playoff series with the Warriors.

The news seemed like a devastating blow to the Kings’ chances of getting the best of the Warriors, but now it appears Fox will play through the injury via James Ham of ESPN 1320.

Some have compared this injury suffered by Fox to an injury that Kobe Bryant played through at one point during his career.

Bryant was infamous for his pain tolerance, as he seemed to be able to focus regardless of what was going on with his body, but not everyone is built like the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

Fortunately for Sacramento, Fox is willing to take on the challenge of powering through, as he intends to play Game 5 at the Golden 1 Center, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This is a great sign for the Kings, who likely have a boost in confidence after hearing that their star guard will be back in the mix for a crucial Game 5 back in Sacramento.

If the Kings hope to advance to the second round, they need Fox to play at a high level, so this injury could make-or-break this team in the next two games of this series.
