The Seattle Mariners are a team that has performed quite well as of late.

Last season, they not only secured their second consecutive 90-win campaign, but also snapped their postseason drought, which had lasted since 2001.

Much of their success last year was thanks in large part to American League Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez.

The slugger has impressed many around the game, including his own teammates.

Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh can certainly attest to that.

On Wednesday, he stopped by Ben Verlander’s “Flippin’ Bats” podcast to talk about Rodriguez and what he has been able to do.

Raleigh also had some very high praise for his teammate.

Raleigh made a very bold statement, saying that if Rodriguez continues to produce the way he has been as of late, he will for sure end up in the Hall of Fame.

The Mariners catcher praised his teammate for the way he prepares on a daily basis.

He also credited the reigning Rookie of the Year on his professionalism, and that if you mix that with the talent he possesses, you have a truly special ballplayer.

Raleigh went on to discuss Rodriguez’s mindset, saying that he doesn’t want to settle at one level and remain the same player, but rather, he wants to continue to get better as his career rolls on.

Rodriguez also is adamant that he wants to win in Seattle, as Raleigh pointed out.

Raleigh echoed those sentiments and said that his goals ultimately align with that of the rest of his teammates.
