It is safe to say that Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns was prepared for these playoffs.

After a dynamite regular season, Booker has come out swinging.

So far, Booker leads the playoffs in isolation points, transition points, and mid-range buckets too.

As pointed out by StatMuse, only Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat has scored more points.

This all comes on top of a very strong 2022-23 when Booker averaged 27.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists on an amazing 49.4% from the field and 35.1% from the three-point line.

Partly because of Booker’s strong playing and leadership, the Suns pushed past the hobbled Los Angeles Clippers.

That means that their most serious challenge lies ahead.

The Denver Nuggets also had a terrific season and they also easily pushed past their opening-round opponent.

Led by the powerful and intimidating Nikola Jokic, along with Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr, and others, the Nuggets are going to put up a huge fight.

Booker will need to keep playing as he has been.

But the rest of his squad will need to compete nearly as well too.

For the last few months, everyone has been speculating about what the Suns will do in the postseason.

Most people assumed that it would be new recruit Kevin Durant who would be leading them.

But Booker has stepped up and is the premier force behind the Suns’ latest surge.

If he continues to perform like this, the Suns really could reach the Finals again.

Will the Nuggets be able to slow him down or is Booker just getting started?
