The Carolina Panthers will kick things off on Thursday night with the first overall pick.

We know it is going to be a quarterback, and the chances are good it will be Alabama’s Bryce Young.

But, the Panthers have done plenty of research on all the top quarterback prospects.

According to Jeremy Fowler, the Panthers were “very intrigued” by Anthony Richardson in the pre-draft process.

While Bryce Young is projected by most to go No. 1, the #Panthers were very intrigued by Anthony Richardson through the evaluation process. He made a strong impression in interviews.

Many scouts around league have Richardson in Tier 1 of draft QBs due to enormous upside.

Richardson is a raw prospect, but he might have the highest upside of any quarterback in the class.

He is built like a linebacker and has dual-threat ability.

Richardson has most of the things that teams cannot teach.

But, whoever drafts him should not expect him to be an impact player in year one.

The Florida product does not have a ton of college production to his name.

He has thrown for 3,105 yards and 24 touchdowns with 15 interceptions in three years.

Despite having an interest in Richardson, the Panthers will likely not select him.

But, seeing where he may end up is what makes the draft so exciting.

There are a few top prospects that fall in the draft every year, and Richardson might be one of those guys this season.

It would be a surprise to see him fall past the Tennessee Titans at No. 11.

But, no one seems to know how much quarterback-needy teams favor the former Gator.

Seeing where Richardson ends up will be one of the most intriguing parts of draft night.
