Florio’s top two players available are quarterbacks, Hendon Hooker and Will Levis.
Heading into the draft, Levis was seen by many analysts as a likely first-round pick, and Hooker was a possibility to sneak in as well.
Being that neither of them was selected in the first round, many teams have reached out to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who currently have the first pick of the second round.
Several teams around the league need a new quarterback to lead their franchise.
Besides the top quarterbacks, Joey Porter Jr., Keion White, and Brian Branch round out Florio’s top five.
The later rounds of the draft tend to produce elite NFL talent, despite their pre-draft grades.
What players from day two will make a splash in the league?
Florio lists six other offensive players in the top-15 available, including four tight ends and two wide receivers.
This year’s first round was surprisingly bare in terms of offensive weapons, especially in comparison to the last three years.
As Florio and many other analysts suggest, there could be a run of receivers and tight ends in the second and third rounds, given the depth in this draft class.
There have been many draft surprises thus far, and there are certainly more to come in the next few days as the draft continues to unfold.
