The Miami Heat had something special going on in the early 2010s.

That Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh made it to the NBA Finals every year they were together, winning two rings in four tries.

Notably, though, that pairing could’ve ended way sooner than expected and with no silverware to show for, as LeBron could have ended his NBA career in the most shocking fashion.

In a recent sit-down with Rachel Nichols, Wade told the story of how LeBron jumped off a balcony straight into a pool when they were in the Bahamas.

“I was like, ‘This dude’s crazy.'” – Dwyane Wade on this week’s episode of Headliners, explaining how LeBron jumped off a balcony into a pool after losing the 2011 Finals. This story is, well, listen for yourself

They had planned their vacation before the end of the season, so they went there after losing the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks.

James showed up to his balcony and asked Wade how deep the pool was, and when his co-star told him what he thought, he chose to find out by himself and just jump off the balcony.

Of course, James didn’t foresee the potential consequences that could’ve had, and we’re not talking just about his career as a professional hooper.

Fortunately, nothing happened, and the next years were arguably the best of his career.

James was at his physical peak during that run with the Heat, establishing himself as the most dominant player in the league at the time.

It would’ve been a shame that the fans would never got to witness that, not to mention the fact that he could’ve retired without even winning a championship.
