The biggest storyline in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft was the quarterbacks that were drafted and the one that wasn’t, which was Will Levis out of the University of Kentucky.
Although Levis was projected to go as high as the No. 1 overall pick, the former Wildcats star dropped entirely out of the first round and ultimately landed with the Tennessee Titans near the top of the second round.
The Titans were one of the many teams that were thought to consider a quarterback in the draft, with Ryan Tannehill only having one more year on his contract in Tennessee.
Tennessee traded up to get Levis, which is an indication of how much they value the rookie quarterback, as it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that he could be the new face of the franchise in the comes to come.

Although it was surprising to see Levis drop to the second round, he was still the fourth quarterback taken in this draft, which many anticipated.
The top three quarterbacks almost went in order, with Bryce Young going No. 1 to the Carolina Panthers, C.J. Stroud landing with the Houston Texans at No. 2 and Anthony Richardson being taken at No. 4 by the Indianapolis Colts.
It will take a few years to find out which quarterbacks turn out to be the real deal, but Levis likely landed in an ideal situation as he can learn behind Tannehill and possibly get a shot in the next few years to show what he can do while the pressure will be on immediately for the three others.
