In the eyes of many analysts and draft experts, the New York Giants had one of the best drafts in the entire league.
Despite only having seven picks, the Giants made the most of their selections, as they have been routinely given a draft grade of “A.”
However, Joe Schoen recently commented on these post-draft grades, citing “You don’t win games in April.”

Last year, the Giants finished the season with a 9-7-1 record, making it into the playoffs.
As they look to the 2023 season with a deeper playoff run in mind, Schoen has cautioned early post-draft optimism.
“Do I like some of the guys we drafted?” asked Schoen.
“The team has to gel, and we have got to build chemistry,” he added.
With their first three picks, the Giants selected Deonte Banks, John Michael Schmitz, and Jalin Hyatt.
Banks was one of the highest-regarded cornerbacks coming into the draft, after his success at the University of Maryland.
Schmitz was a surprise faller to the second round, as many analysts had a first-round grade on him.
During his time at the University of Minnesota, Schmitz was regarded as one of, if not the nation’s best center.
By adding a piece to their offensive line, with any luck, Daniel Jones will be able to take another step forward in 2023.
Hyatt was one of the highest-regarded receivers during the pre-draft process, and he should be able to aid in Jones’ development as well.
How will the Giants fare this season, with their newest draft picks in mind?
