Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper played with a damaged elbow ligament for a large portion of last season, and yet he was able to lead his team to the World Series.
He was also a beast in postseason play.
After failing to win the World Series, he decided to undergo Tommy John surgery to repair his UCL.
He was supposed to be out until June or July.
The Phillies, however, didn’t place him on the 60-day injured list to begin the season.
They knew he had a chance to return in May.
He has been hitting milestones in his rehab, slowly but steadily: hitting off a tee, taking batting practice with his teammates, and even fielding some grounders at first base to help the team manage the absence of Rhys Hoskins.
On Monday, he was scheduled to have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Neal ElAttrache to rejoin the Phillies’ lineup on Tuesday.
Well, nothing is official as of the moment, but it seems it went well.
Bryce Harper just sent this out on Instagram.
“Aye Pham. You ready?”

The player himself went to Instagram and posted the message.
“You ready?”
You can bet Phillies fans were born ready to see him return to the lineup.
The team has been able to keep afloat in his absence, with a 15-14 record as of Monday afternoon.
They are four games out of first place, which is manageable considering we are starting May.
If the Phillies confirm the news, Harper could be back in the lineup as soon as Tuesday.
That would be an incredibly fast recovery from major surgery.
The 2021 NL MVP is ready to pick it up right where he left them off.
