Patrick Mahomes is already an all-time great quarterback at the age of 27 with two regular season MVPs, two Super Bowl championships and two Super Bowl MVPs.
His Kansas City Chiefs can still collect more championships in the coming years, even after losing star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and JuJu Smith-Schuster in the last two offseasons.
Rich Eisen asked Chiefs head coach Andy Reid what the team saw in Mahomes that made them want to draft him, and Ried cited some similarities to Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre.

Reid, in particular, noted how Mahomes seemed like he played “like he’s in the backyard.”
The Chiefs made Mahomes the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after trading up to the pick.
He sat for his rookie season behind Alex Smith, who had a career season that year and made his third Pro Bowl.
Prior to the 2018 season, Kansas City decided to trade Smith and promote Mahomes to the QB1 spot.
The move paid dividends in just his second season as a starter when the team overcome a late 10-point deficit in the Super Bowl to defeat the San Francisco 49ers.
It was in that game that Mahomes proved he was a crunch-time performer, and if there were any doubts, he did it again in last season’s playoffs while playing on a sprained ankle.
A number of teams, including the 49ers, are likely kicking themselves for not picking Mahomes in the 2017 draft.
