At times in their Game 1 win over the Phoenix Suns, the Denver Nuggets looked pretty impressive.
They took control of the contest by outscoring Kevin Durant and crew 37-19 and cruised the rest of the way to a 125-107 decision.
It may look like a fairly strong victory, but Fox Sports 1 analyst Joy Taylor isn’t impressed, and she said that the Nuggets “haven’t proven anything.”

She pointed to the fact that the Suns committed 16 turnovers versus just nine for Denver, although perhaps Denver deserves at least some credit for forcing those turnovers and capitalizing on them.
Defense has been the big question mark for the Nuggets all season long and is the biggest reason why some doubt they can win the NBA championship, and they did allow Phoenix to shoot 51.2 percent in Game 1 while giving up 23 fast-break points.
Phoenix wants to run more and play faster in Game 2, which will take place on Monday evening, and although fast-breaking more often is always a good idea, they will have to defend and rebound better in order to do so.
In Game 1, the Suns got outrebounded by 11 while watching the Nuggets shoot 43.2 percent from 3-point range, which is an unsuccessful recipe for getting out and running.
Often times, nothing is really proven in Game 1 of a playoff series.
If the Suns manage to take Game 2, they will be in good shape moving forward, as they would steal home-court advantage right before heading home for the next two contests.
