During his time with the Chicago Bears, Brian Urlacher was one of the best defenders in the entire league.

He spent his entire career with the Bears while racking up several accolades along the way.

This included Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Even though Urlacher is now retired, it appears that his son is on a similar trajectory after announcing his commitment to Notre Dame.

Kennedy Urlacher is a three-star safety recruit and will have an opportunity to hone his skills at Notre Dame.

Standing at 6-feet tall and 190 pounds, Urlacher still has plenty of room for growth, both physically and as an athlete.

Being the son of a former NFL superstar has its benefits, but it also has its drawbacks.

While he’s in college, Urlacher is likely to draw plenty of media attention because of the name on the back of his jersey.

Some players handle that pressure well, and others unfortunately do not.

The good news is that Urlacher still has one more year of high school.

He will have another year to adjust to this new reality while preparing for the expectations that will come with his collegiate career.

Urlacher joins Arch Manning, nephew of former Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, as a highly-regarded member of an NFL family slated to make their collegiate debut in the next few years.

Will either of these players reach a similar trajectory as their family members?

The world will definitely be watching, especially in Urlacher’s case due to the prestige of a school like Notre Dame.
