The Boston Red Sox earned an impressive walk-off victory against a division rival, the Toronto Blue Jays, on Monday night.

Outfielder Alex Verdugo was the hero of the night, with a walk-off home run against Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano.

Walk-off home runs are perhaps the most exciting play in baseball.

You could feel the crowd roaring in Fenway Park after Verdugo punished the ball and sent it to the stands.

It’s not the first rodeo for Verdugo, though: he has been in this spot before.

Not necessarily with homers, but with walk-off hits.

The one from Monday night was his third of the season.

The Red Sox have played 30 games, so 10 percent of their contests have ended with a Verdugo walk-off.

How cool is that?

“Alex Verdugo has 3 walk-off hits in the Red Sox 1st 30 games. That’s tied for most by a player in his team’s 1st 30 games of a season since 1920, with: 1999 Andruw Jones, 1973 Bobby Bonds. If we expand to walk-off RBI, not just hits, it’s them + 2004 Joe Crede,” MLB stats expert Sarah Langs tweeted.

Verdugo now joins two great players from the past with his feat: Andruw Jones and Bobby Bonds.

The Red Sox are currently hot and got out of the AL East basement on Monday with the win and the New York Yankees’ loss.

At the moment, the Sox are 16-14, fourth in their division, and 7.5 games behind the leaders, the Tampa Bay Rays.

They are starting to play well, and Verdugo, who has a .881 OPS, has had a lot to do with that.
