Bryce Harper is officially back.

After a speedy recovery from Tommy John surgery, the Philadelphia Phillies slugger and former NL MVP returned to action on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, he played his second game of the 2023 season, but he did so with a giant cast on his arm to protect his elbow.

However, Harper was able to work around it against the Los Angeles Dodgers, as he picked up three hits in Wednesday’s defeat.

On Twitter, Talkin’ Baseball posted a picture of Harper wearing his cast while at the plate to illustrate just how dedicated Harper is to his craft and the fact that he can work through almost anything.

Harper injured his elbow early last season and was limited to designated hitter duties.

However, it didn’t affect him in the batter’s box.

The veteran slugger underwent Tommy John surgery after the conclusion of the World Series.

Philadelphia lost to the Houston Astros in six games.

Despite the surgery, however, Harper bounced back very quickly.

He was initially expected to make his return in July, but ended up being ahead of schedule.

As of now, he’s still serving as a DH and not playing in the field.

But the fact that he came back early and is playing while he has a full cast on his arm shows just how truly dedicated Harper is to his craft and that he is able to work through adversity.

Yet his three hits couldn’t save the defending National League champions from being swept by the Dodgers.
