After the Dallas Cowboys‘ second-round exit from the playoffs last season, there were several parties blamed for their downfall.
Some pointed to coaching and ownership shortcomings, while others pointed to players like Dak Prescott, who couldn’t get the job done.
To add more veteran leadership to their roster, the Cowboys have recently acquired Brandin Cooks.
In a recent conversation with The Athletic, when referencing Prescott, Cooks called him “special,” and that he can “sling that ball.”

When Prescott was drafted by the Cowboys in 2016, he took the league by storm.
Not only did he win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but he took the Cowboys to the playoffs in his rookie campaign as well.
In his seven seasons as the Cowboys’ starter, the team has made the playoffs on four separate occasions, with an overall record of 2-4.
Despite revitalizing the organization, many around the league have criticized Prescott and his play.
If Cooks’ latest comments are any indication, it appears that he is fully behind Prescott, and the rest of the locker room is as well.
How will Cooks fit into this offense, especially alongside young sensation CeeDee Lamb?
Lamb has established himself as Prescott’s top weapon, commanding an impressive target share.
Cooks is 30 years old but claimed that he hasn’t lost a step despite his age.
“I take care of my body,” he said.
It appears that he is ready to make an impact during his first year with the Cowboys.
Will he, Prescott, and the rest of the offense be able to click, making a deeper postseason run?
