The Oakland Athletics will move to Las Vegas within the next four seasons.
They expect to build a new stadium there by 2027.
The fans they made in Oakland will be left with nothing.
The worst part of all is that they are being blamed by the ownership for not showing up to games even though the former is responsible for tanking and not fielding a competitive team for the last two seasons.
The A’s were never among the league leaders in home attendance, but whenever the team was competitive, they showed up.
When they made the playoffs in 2019, fans filled the Oakland Coliseum.
But if you slowly trade or let go of every relevant star or talented player, fans will obviously lose interest.
That’s what the A’s did.
Their homegrown talent is now feeding real contenders, and that’s just sad.

Catcher Sean Murphy is having a stellar season with the Atlanta Braves, while third baseman Matt Chapman is having a breakthrough campaign with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Chapman was traded to Toronto before the start of the 2022 season, and Murphy was flipped to the Braves after it.
That’s only two players: the exodus also includes Matt Olson, Frankie Montas, Chris Bassitt, Liam Hendriks, Sean Manaea, Andrew Chafin, Starling Marte, Jesus Luzardo, Mark Canha, Elvis Andrus, and many others.
All of them were on the A’s roster at some point in the last couple of seasons and were either traded or left via free agency.
It’s hard not to side with Oakland fans here.
