The Denver Nuggets were quite aggressive right out of the gate in Game 1.
They went to the locker room with an 18-point lead, and it seemed like they were entirely in control of the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers stormed back to make things quite interesting, even making it a one-possession game at one point in the fourth quarter.

According to Austin Reaves, it was all because of the intensity and approach they had in the second half, as they were more aggressive and refused to be pushed over so badly at this stage.
Coach Darvin Ham and LeBron James looked unbothered after the loss as well.
They seemingly feel quite good about themselves, and they should.
Coming back from a 21-point deficit and ‘only’ losing by six should give them optimism for the remainder of the series, especially when it heads back to Southern California for Games 3 and 4.
Even so, they have to be ready from the start, as they’ve dug themselves into a hole way too many times this season, and the Nuggets are the last team you’d want to be playing pickup against.
Nikola Jokic is on a tear and is playing like the best basketball player on Earth, and not even Anthony Davis’ elite defense was enough to cool him down.
Lakers fans will hope that their team takes a different approach early in Game 2, as there’s little use for morale victories at this point when the NBA Finals are just four wins away.
