After failing to find a trade package that intrigued them around the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals recently decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins was expected to be a hot commodity on the open market once he officially became a free agent and was able to sign with any team that he wants.

However, that hasn’t been the case, as he’s only been linked to a handful of teams, and there’s no telling how serious those teams are about signing him before next season.

Before Hopkins was released, the veteran wideout was said to be drawing interest from the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, but he remains unsigned, resulting in uncertainty about his future in the league.

According to Tony Grossi of ESPN, the Cleveland Browns might be the only interested party moving forward, as there doesn’t appear to be a market for Hopkins via ESPN Cleveland.

Clearly, no teams are in a rush to sign Hopkins, and the five-time All-Pro is in no hurry to find a new home in the NFL.

With quite a resume to his credit and still relatively young at 30, it is surprising that Hopkins remains unsigned, but teams might not be offering what he was hoping, which may have reshaped his strategy in free agency.

It’d be hard to imagine a team not taking a chance on Hopkins, as it may only be a matter of time before he signs with a new team and starts fresh after a forgettable stint with the Cardinals.
