The Buffalo Bills enter the season in a bit of a tough spot, as their division just got a lot better, yet they’re still highly expected to be a Super Bowl contender.

Not having Von Miller on the field in the playoffs was a major blow for them, and given his age, some questioned whether he would be back in time for the start of the season.

Notably, Miller is not like most 34-year-old NFL players, and it seems like he’s healthy enough to avoid being put on the PUP list before the start of the season.

“I have good information from my doctor, and my knee is all healed up,” Miller said

Miller had already stated that he was working toward being back sooner than expected, adding that he had full confidence in his staff.

Avoiding the PUP list would be huge for the two-time Super Bowl champion, as he would start the season on the 53-man roster instead of entering Injured Reserve, where he’d be forced to miss the first four games of the season.

Miller tore his ACL on Thanksgiving, about nine and a half months ago, and the usual player takes up to 12 months or so to be back on the field.

This is his second ACL tear, as he already suffered an injury of this kind ten years ago, and he needed roughly nine months to recover from that.

Still, the Bills would be wise to play it safe with their star linebacker.

They added Leonard Floyd to give another boost to their pass rush, so they can afford to give Miller some more time to restore his body and be ready for when it matters the most.
