As soon as people realized that the Denver Nuggets were going to face off vs. the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, a lot of talk and attention centered on their feud from a couple of years ago.

People wondered whether there was still some bad blood from Nikola Jokic’s beef with Markieff Morris and if these two teams didn’t like each other.

Notably, both Jokic and Jimmy Butler were quick to dismiss that narrative and state that there was no beef between them, which was even more evident after Game 5.

Jokic proved to be a class act and a rightful winner by saluting and shaking hands with every single one of the Heat players before celebrating his championship, which is something not many players wouldn’t even think of doing.

Jokic showed to be a fair competitor first and foremost, putting respect for his rivals ahead of his own emotions and desire to join his teammates in the celebration.

It’s hard to argue that Jokic is one of the most humble and down-to-earth superstars in the sports industry nowadays, and that’s why he’s so likable and easy to root for.

Not many players would’ve even cared about their rivals after winning their very first NBA championship.

They would’ve gone straight to celebrate, regardless of how anybody else felt about it.

Jokic has always kept the most important things as the most important things, snubbing MVP talks and whatnot to focus on the actual game.

That’s what a true champion does.
