The Denver Nuggets finished the job in high fashion.
They went 16-4 throughout the course of the playoffs, adding to an already-impressive regular season in which they were the undisputed best team in the Western Conference.
And perhaps the best thing about this championship run is that people from all time zones finally got to see what Nikola Jokic is capable of and what he’s been doing for three years straight now.
That’s why Skip Bayless tipped his hat off to the Joker, praising the Serbian big man for his sweet touch around the rim and how he’s perhaps the most spectacular shot-creator at the center position this game has ever seen.
Nikola Jokic wins Finals MVP and is the 1st player to lead the playoffs in points, rebounds & assists:
“His artistry and creativity was on full display throughout these payoffs. He’s a shot creator unlike any big man I’ve ever seen.”

Jokic led the entire NBA in points, rebounds, and assists throughout the playoffs, setting a new mark for the most triple-doubles in a single postseason run and dominating every single big man he faced with ease.
The Nuggets were a well-rounded team anchored by a unique offensive force in the middle, and there’s not so much you can do against him.
You can collapse on the paint, but he’ll find an open guy in the perimeter.
You could choose to take his shooters away, but then he can bully his way to the rim.
He can pull up, spot-up, post-up, and shoot from all three levels over every single defender in the league, and he’ll continue to be an indecipherable offensive juggernaut for years to come.
Jokic is the best player on the planet, and it was about time he got his flowers.
