The Denver Nuggets found a true gem when they got Nikola Jokic.
And while his rise to the top has been notorious and rapid, he might be climbing the all-time great ladder at a historic pace.
At least, that’s what former NBA player Chandler Parsons seems to believe, as he recently stated that he’s officially entered top-5 big man territory with that championship win.
Parsons put Jokic in the same tier as Hakeem Olajuwon, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

No disrespect to Jokic whatsoever, and he might as well be the most unique center in the history of the game, but maybe we’re getting a little too carried away by recency bias.
Jokic has played himself into a first-ballot-Hall-of-Fame kind of career, and he’s already the greatest passing big man of all time, and the best player in Nuggets history.
But even if he wins another ring, there are still levels to everything, and it might take a while before we can put him in the same conversation as those all-time greats.
He’s just getting started, and that’s a double-edged sword.
He might keep this up for another decade and become the best center ever, or he could fall from a cliff, so maybe we should wait a little longer.
