On Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals’ spiral continued as they dropped their fourth consecutive game, losing to the San Francisco Giants by a final score of 11-3.
The loss also secured their fourth consecutive series loss as they fell to 27-41.
They once again hold the worst record in the National League and have matched a season low by falling to 14 games below the .500 mark.
Perhaps nobody on the roster is feeling the pressure mounting more than catcher Willson Contreras.
After the game a photo emerged of Contreras sitting alone in the Cardinals dugout as he looked at a smashed water cooler.

More than likely, this was done by Contreras out of frustration, but it ultimately sums up the pressure that is mounting for the Cardinals as they desperately try to save their season, which soon may be a lost cause.
In the photo, several water bottles can be seen on the ground next to the destroyed cooler, while Contreras sits with a look of disbelief on his face.
At the beginning of the season, the Cardinals were the clear favorites to win the NL Central division.
Though not mathematically eliminated, the Cardinals may end up becoming sellers at the trade deadline if they can’t gain any more traction in a weak division.
They began play on Wednesday 8.5 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates in the division.
Time is running out for the 11-time World Series champions, and the photo simply sums up the frustration that is mounting in St. Louis amongst the players and fans.
