The New Orleans Pelicans have knocked on the door of playoff contention way too often lately.
They’ve been an impressive and winning team when Zion Williamson has been on the court, but his never-ending absences have kept them from reaching their true potential.
With that in mind, and given how much they’re reportedly high on Scoot Henderson, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports, via NBACentral, that multiple teams around the league are keeping tabs on Zion’s availability ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft.

Not so long ago, Zion was the undisputed No. 1 prospect in the nation.
But it’s been four years since Zion made it to the league, and he’s only played 114 games.
He hasn’t been available in pivotal games for his team, and it seems like it takes him way more time to heal than the average player.
The Pelicans have played it safely with him, and rightfully so, but they can only wait for him for so long.
There’s a chance Zion breaks out and winds up becoming the NBA legend some thought he’d be.
But the Pelicans should strongly consider all their options regarding him, and if he ends up reaching stardom somewhere else, then so be it.
They’re too close to being a contender and simply cannot rely on him being healthy, so it might as well be time to pull the plug on him.
