The Denver Nuggets proved all the doubters wrong.

Not many people trusted they could get the job done and go against the best teams in the league, mostly because they had a long history of underperforming in the playoffs after dominating in the regular season.

That became even more evident when the Nuggets started struggling down the stretch, as they kind of hit a brick wall and seemed like they had maxed out already.

According to Michael Porter Jr., that was also the moment they realized they needed to step their game up if they wanted to get the job done this season.

“I feel like losing a couple of those games late in the season kinda helped renew our focus going into the playoffs, realizing we could be beat if we don’t bring it.”

As ironic as it may seem, losing actually taught this team how to win, and they took that resiliency and grit with them all the way to the playoffs.

The Nuggets lost a grand total of just four games in the whole postseason, dropping just one game at home and even sweeping LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

They heard all the noise and the doubts, but they didn’t care about them at all.

They just put their heads down and silenced their critics one by one throughout the course of the postseason.

Of course, some will always argue that they beat a No. 8 seed in the NBA Finals, but there’s just no way to debate how dominant Mike Malone’s team was throughout the whole season, and that includes the playoffs.

Now, the hardest part about all this will be to keep the foot on the gas and do it again next season.
