For the first time in his career, Bradley Beal has told the Washington Wizards that he would accept being traded.
The Wizards have repeatedly thrown absurd amounts of money his way, making him virtually untradeable throughout all these years.
He’ll make north of $50 million when he turns 33 years old, and he’s struggled with injuries over the past couple of years.
Notably, the few teams that could be interested in his services are teams where he wouldn’t be the No. 1 scoring option, and those usually don’t have that much cap space.

That’s why Brian Windhorst believes trading Beal would be way easier said than done, as only two teams have shown a legit interest in his services thus far: the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks.
Windhorst adds that Beal has a unique no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he could pretty much handpick where he wants to be traded to.
That would put the Wizards in a tough spot, as they would either be forced to accept whatever another team is willing to give them for their franchise player or hold onto him and keep postponing that long-overdue rebuild.
The Wizards aren’t good enough to compete, and a lot of that has had to do with all the money they’ve committed to Beal.
Beal is a three-time All-Star and quite a dynamic scorer, but one could argue whether he’s a $50 million-a-year kind of player at this point in his career.
This will be a situation to keep an eye on, but it doesn’t seem like it’ll come to conclusion any time soon.
